We are delighted to announce that Andrew Gomarsall, Executive Director at n2s has been included on the Net Zero 50 List launched this week, which highlights the top 50 individuals driving the UK’s progress towards achieving Net Zero by 2050. This is the second time he has received this accolade.
The Net Zero List is a Digital Leaders initiative delivered in partnership with CGI. Its mission is to spotlight innovators who are forging the UK’s path to Net Zero. As many of our clients, partners and the wider IT eco-system know, Andrew is a champion of the need to drive circularity in the IT sector and has played a key role in educating the IT industry on the growing global impact of e-waste. He has also been involved in the innovation of biotechnologies to extract precious metals in e-waste and is a founder of our sister company – Bioscope Technologies.
The Net Zero 50 were celebrated at a ceremony at the House of Lords where the award recipients were joined by other individuals playing a key role in the UK’s race to net zero. The invitation came from Rt Hon. Lord Deben, a former Secretary of State for the Environment who is a pivotal figure in environmental advocacy and was instrumental in setting carbon targets. He set the tone of the afternoon with a positive view forward for all companies driving this agenda.
Chris Howes, Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO) at Defra and host of the Government Digital Sustainability Alliance (GDSA) of which n2s is a member, spoke of his meeting that day with the new Secretary of State Steve Reed OBE, with circular economy in his top five priorities in the next year.
